What's the difference between the EV charger brands?
Tesla Wall Connector offers premium build quality and seamless Tesla app integration with a 4-year warranty. GoodWe chargers provide solar-smart charging when paired with GoodWe inverters, allowing you to charge from excess solar. SolarEdge chargers integrate with SolarEdge systems for intelligent excess solar charging. All chargers support 7-22kW depending on your home's electrical setup.
Can I charge my EV from solar?
Yes! Both GoodWe and SolarEdge chargers offer solar-smart charging modes when paired with their respective inverters. This allows you to charge your EV using excess solar production, maximising your self-consumption and minimising grid costs. Tesla chargers can be scheduled to charge during peak solar hours.
How fast will my EV charge?
Charging speed depends on your home's electrical supply. Single-phase homes typically get 7kW charging (adding about 40-50km range per hour). Three-phase homes can access up to 22kW (adding about 120-150km range per hour). We'll assess your electrical setup during your free consultation.
Do I need solar to install an EV charger?
No, you don't need solar to have an EV charger installed. All our chargers work with grid power. However, combining an EV charger with solar significantly reduces your running costs - you can essentially drive on sunshine!
Can I install the charger outdoors?
Yes, all our EV chargers are rated for both indoor and outdoor installation. They're designed to withstand Australian weather conditions with appropriate IP ratings for dust and water protection.
What warranty do the chargers come with?
Warranty varies by brand: Tesla offers 4 years, SolarEdge offers 3 years, and GoodWe offers 2 years. All installations by our accredited electricians include workmanship warranty coverage.
